Semana del 28 de marzo al 1 de abril 2016

Estimados padres de familia:

Durante esta semana los alumnos aprenderán acerca de algunas necesidades y problemas del departamento. Identificarán algunos hechos históricos durante la Federación Centroamericana. Continuarán aprendiendo acerca de los gobiernos democráticos y autoritarios. Aprenderán acerca de la independencia de América Insular.

Segundo Grado
Los alumnos aprenderán acerca de algunas necesidades y problemas del departamento. Como la necesidad de la construcción de puentes, carreteras, hospitales y escuelas.








Tercer Grado
Los alumnos conocerán acerca de la formación de algunos partidos políticos durante la Federación Centroamericana.





Cuarto Grado
Los alumnos continuarán aprendiendo acerca de los hechos históricos de los gobiernos democráticos y autoritarios de Centro América.






Quinto Grado
Los alumnos conocerán acerca de la independencia de América Insular. Identificarán algunos personajes importantes que contribuyeron a la independencia de estos países.




PIZZA LUNCH REWARD – The students whose parents came to the presentation on March 10 are invited to come to the Conference Room (second floor of the administrative building)

EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ELEMENTARY READ-A-THON –The winners of the annual March Read-a-Thon will be going out to Chilli’s for lunch this Friday, courtesy on the DPTO. The winners are:

EARTH DAY ASSEMBLY – There will be an assembly on Friday, April 1 @ 10:30 am to celebrate Earth.

LOCAL SPELING BEE – We will be participating in the Local Spelling Bee on Saturday, April 2 at the International School in Tegucigalpa! Ms. Amy Suhr will be representing the school as a caller.  

NUESTROS PEQUEÑOS HERMANOS BAKE SALE – NPH (the school’s community service club) will be having a bake sale on Friday, April 1. Delicious baked goods will be sold during snack and lunch. Do not forget to bring money.


FAMILY NIGHT: The DPTO invites you to its annual family and movie night! 


For Grades 9-12:
CAREER DAY: We will be having Career Day here in school on Wednesday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We have invited several professionals from our Discovery School community as well from the outside, to come to share with our students their experience and thoughts about the career they chose to pursue. Grades 9th through 12th and all parents are invited to attend.

Estimados padres de familia:

Durante esta semana los alumnos identificarán  las autoridades departamentales. Aprenderán acerca de la Federación Centroamericana. Conocerán acerca de los gobiernos democráticos y autoritarios. Aprenderán acerca de la independencia de Centro América y América del Sur.

Segundo Grado
Los alumnos identificarán las autoridades departamentales y el trabajo que realizan para beneficio de la sociedad hondureña.






  
Tercer Grado
Los alumnos conocerán acerca de la Federación Centroamericana.





Cuarto Grado
Los alumnos aprenderán acerca de los hechos históricos de los gobiernos democráticos y autoritarios de Centro América.





Quinto Grado
Los alumnos conocerán acerca de la independencia de Centro América y América del Sur. Identificarán algunos personajes importantes que contribuyeron a la independencia de estos países.







III QUARTER REPORT CARDS AND CONFERENCES - Report cards will be sent home with your child on Friday, March 18, if there is no need for a conference. An email will be sent home if you need to come to school and meet with your child’s teacher(s). Parent teacher conferences will be held that same Friday, March 18 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. We strongly advise you to come to school and meet with your child's teachers.

THE ALL SCHOOL PICTURE WILL BE TAKEN MARCH 15, 2016 AT 8:10 AM 

ALSO, FROM 8:30 AM TO 10:00 AM AT THE INFORMATION CENTER WILL BE RETAKE PICTURE DAY, ONLY FOR THOSE STUDENTS THAT MISSED THE INDIVIDUAL PICTURE FOR THE YEARBOOK. MRS. GABY CHAVEZ WILL BE TAKING THE CHILDREN INDIVIDUALLY.

Semana del 7 al 11 de marzo 2016

Estimados padres de familia:

Durante esta semana los alumnos identificarán algunas necesidades y problemas del municipio. Aprenderán acerca de la de la independencia de Honduras. Conocerán acerca de la reforma liberal. Aprenderán acerca de la independencia de Norte América y México.

Segundo Grado
Los alumnos identificarán algunas necesidades y problemas del municipio con el propósito de proponer soluciones y así tener un mejor lugar para vivir.  






Tercer Grado
Los alumnos conocerán acerca de las causas internas y externas de la independencia de Honduras.





Cuarto Grado
Los alumnos aprenderán acerca de la reforma liberal en Centro América.







Quinto Grado
Los alumnos conocerán acerca de la independencia de Norte América y México.









LICE – We once again have several cases of lice at school. Lice are common in all schools this time of year and there is no reason for shame. Parental cooperation is crucial in effectively eradicating this small epidemic. The school nurse will check students for lice, and a student will be able to come back to school once there are no more lice/nits on the student and has been cleared by our school nurse. Please help us by sending your child back to school once you have gotten treated the problem, and please understand that the measures we take are to ensure the well-being of our students. 

PRESENTATION FOR PARENTS - We cordially invite all DS school parents to attend a presentation that will be given by the Lic. Manuel Morales on the topic “The Four Types of Parents”. This presentation will take place on Thursday, March 10, at 12:00 p.m., in the Conference Room. The school will be providing some refreshments. We hope you will be able to attend!
